GOODBYE.

A
single
raindrop
hits
pavement,
and explodes on impact.
In your headlights,
a million more
shatter in harmony.
That is to say I think we lost ourselves somewhere.

We each hide behind
walls thick with breathing-
we should trade,
see what we're up against.
The looks that you toss me
burrow under my skin
--parasites.
This
car is too hot.

Our hands sit
side by side
on the center console.
Your fingers could
creep over just
centimeters
and suddenly this
would be
okay.
but
they just
don't.
